I need all the info I can wrap my brain around. Hi all in 2013 I took a beginners riding class and I really liked it. So after a year of research and doubt I bought the street 500. I love it! I've got a ton of practicing to do and can't wait to get to it. :)

Welcome to the forum mammsof4!

Is your alias slang for mom of four? Are you a mother of four children?

You'll find a wealth of information, insight, wisdom, and at times straight-up poetry, on this ever growing forum. There's a lot you can learn from those of us who have owned the Street series Harley since last year, and those of us who have been riding motorcycles for decades!

Welcome to the forum. Only two words of advice. Seat time, seat time, seat time and ride safe.

Advanced advice is always look where you're going, not where you're at (they teach this in the basic course) and always remember that to turn tighter push down on the inside handle bar. The motorcycle will turn a lot tighter than you're comfortable with and never allow yourself to cross over into on-coming traffic because you're afraid to push down on the handle bar. Goning into a turn too fast for comfort is a problem that even experience riders encounter but we know to just push down harder on the inside handle bar and the motorcycle will almost magically make the turn.

Welcome from Western Colorado.

Might look into the Ride like a Pro DVD. Motorman Jerry has some interesting stuff on the disc!
