Today i completed my first mod

Lol - not chrome - that's 3 hours of wet sanding the powder coating and polishing the stock alloy - spent years doing it on my sons race bikes , now it my turn

The triple trees will be a little harder - but yes I love shines

Hi,

Very easy process;
1. Use a good paint stripper, apparently an aircraft stripper is best, I used a standard brand
2. Start sanding with about 300 grit wet and dry paper
3. Any tricky spots can be dealt with by using a Dremel and a wire wheel, but be care - lightly only
4. Gradually increase wet and dry sanding, next 600, then 1000 and finish with 2000
5. Now I use a good aluminium polish with 2000 grit
6. Wipe clean
7. Now polish with a lint free rag and the alloy polish again

CAUTION: make sure you follow all safety instructions with paint stripper, it's lethal stuff
Gloves are required too

Looking forward to seeing you results

Ride hard!!!!

Let me know what you use to clean the Plastidipped parts. I used the vinegar Windex that I use on my black denim paint and it discolored the Plastidip.
