Hi my name is Michael.
I am new to the forum. I went up to the local dealership have my very first view of the street 500. Really love the look and feel of the bike. I am even more excited once they get in the street 750.
I was looking at getting the Iron 883 till got a email from Harley about the new bike launch. I was at first surprised with the engine size they are offering. Most of all I was truly pulled in by the style of the street.
I am hoping to get the street 750 when it is finally released. Also I am hoping that this models will have a great amount of support from aftermarket companies to customize the bikes even more. Most of all the exhaust.

Welcome to the forum Michael!

Just out of curiousity, what makes you want the 750 over the 500? I am just asking since no one is really interested in the 500 at all.

As for aftermarket support you bet there would be! Which parts are you looking to get for your 750?

I like the 500 a lot but felt that the 750 would be a better fit for me. I would honestly like to get the 500 for a to and from work bike and the 750 for riding out of town. I am sure that the 500 will do what I need.
Once I get to test ride them both I will decide which will suit me. I at this time have a 06 suzuki katana 750 and was planning on using that as my long rides.

Welcome to the forum @EmraldKnight. Seems like most NA members are just playing the waiting game. We have some Indian members who have their bikes now though i think. Did you already test drive the 500, or are you still waiting to test drive both?

I look forward to your thought on how the two compare.

Cheers :D

I am waiting to test drive both bikes. I am going to take the riding course threw harley. I had my endorsement but lost my certificate and my dmv does not have it on file. So I will test the 500 out that way and once I am done give the 750 a shot and see which I like best. They are both the same size and about weight as well.

Yeah that makes sense I guess the 500 would even yield better fuel economy by a bit if that is a concern and possible get a better rate for your insurance policy.

What are you going to do with the katana? You like the riding position on the street more right?

The insurance I am not stressing all to much to tell the truth. I have looked at the mpg on what they say the street models get and I have to say I am surprised that the 500 does not get more then what they clam.
As for my Katana I plan on keeping it and using it to ride on long trips. Its not a full lean over that you would see on a superbike. It has more of a up right riding position, the bike is more of sport touring model. I am not sure if you or many watch motovloggers on youtube. I do and after watching Billmaa who does what he titled it bwom which stands for by way of motorcycle. He and his best friend rode all fifty states on motorcycles. They mostly rode a honda vfr and suzuki hayabusa. Cause of seeing them do that and the bond they developed I am wanting to do the same with my best friend as well.
If you all have not heard about or seen bwom here is the channel.
