I am a new rider as well, and so far, I am finding the 750 a great bike to start on. It has a fair amount of power for its weight and handles amazingly so I am finding it a perfect bike for new riders. One thing to keep in mind if you do decide to get the street 750, is some of the bikes have a known issue with the fuel light, it is a simple fix, and takes a short amount of time and the dealer can fix it.

No, the dealer CAN'T fix it (yet). Do your homework, this bike in my opinion has a serious fuel tank design flaw. Be careful when the bike is low on fuel. Other than that, it is a great bike.
