In India no body was buying premium so supplies are cut short. Now available in a few select outlets and major cities. Only regular sells.

It's a pretty light motorcycle compared to most Harleys so I am not surprised that the fuel mileage that is being reported is pretty good.

Agreed, that sounds pretty good. I am anxious to see more reports as folks get their bikes. As the engines get broke in, the fuel economy should improve a bit more.

They only claim 41 MPG for both bikes. I wonder why such a low figure? I am also considering the Honda CTX 700. I would prefer to have a Harley but that low mileage figure is a concern. That 17 km/liter would be just about that bad but 25 km/liter would be ok.

I guess they do that just to save their arses, instead of trying to report the highest number they actually can and then problems coming up with people trying to get what ever high number it is.

I don't really see the CTX 700 as a bike in the same category as the Street. It is bigger and more expensive. What is making you consider that bike, or are you thinking of buying it in addition to the Street?

Actually I consider them quite similar. The Honda has a slightly smaller engine & has a lower list price (Now if I could actually find a dealer that would sell for that price.) I had already settled on the Honda when I first heard of the new Harleys. I put off buying waiting for the Harleys & because none of the Honda dealers were hungry enough to make me a fair deal. I have been riding for sixty years & have never owned a Harley. If I don't do it now it may soon be too late.
Whichever bike I finally buy would be my primary & my Yamaha Majesty will be my backup if it is worth fixing. (No wreck just mechanical problem. At nine years old & 86,000 miles it may not be worth fixing.)

I have the Street 500. I am getting 56 miles per gallon. That is a mix of freeway and surface streets. I do use premium fuel. I have around 420 miles on the bike so its not even broken in yet. I am pretty happy with this mileage so far.

Not bad at all.
I use premium in all my bikes too... currently at $4.40 per gallon here in NY state. Ouch!

I have over 1200 miles on my Street 750 since July 19th. I've had mileage at 55, 46, 41, and 48 per gallon. Mostly on 2 lane roads here. I've used 93 and 87 octane but prefer using 91 with NO ALCOHOL. Luckily for me, there is a Tri-Par Station 6 miles up the road from me that sells it at around $4 dollars a gallon.
