Hello Street Fans!

Been wanting a custom sissy bar for some time. Decided to make one. I used a piece of flat bar to mount where the existing HD short sissy bar backrest attaches to the rack. Drilled the holes. Got a couple pieces of 1/2 rebar and used GMAW to weld them to the mounting bracket. Forged a split cross from some square stock on the anvil and welded that to the rebar. I am just testing some ideas that I have. If I find a design that I like, I may make it out of some round stock. Very easy to make. I rolled today with it and it worked fine. I used a larger backpack on the taller sissy bar.
Any ideas to make it better are appreciated.

Looks a little tall for my own personal taste. Just goes to show what you can do with a little idea and a good set of hands. I hope you did not weld on the carpet.

No Welding on the carpet. There is a sign somewhere about that. It is tall for me also. I think I am gonna cut about 12" or so off. I might put in a couple of rungs to add some stability.
I think the main takeaway from this project is the mount.
