When I asked for a quote from my dealership for Stage 1 Screamin' Eagle, they added a few parts that I wasn't expecting:
1) An upgrade to the spark plugs
2) Spark plug wires

But I've seen people go for V&H Slip-On Exhausts and K&N Air filters/ V&H O2 filters without changing the sparkplugs.

Any reason behind this? Should you upgrade the spark plugs even when using these aftermarket parts?

PS:
The part names mentioned in the quote are:
1) SE ST PERFORM SPARK PLUGS
2) SE 10MM PHAT SPARK PLUG W

That is new to me. I have been riding with all of the above without a spark plug "upgrade" for almost 4 years now and my bike is chugging along nicely. Sounds like a marketing scheme to me. I would not do it.

I think you dealer just saw an opportunity to sell a couple more parts. Unless there is a problem that you haven't mentioned, just tell him to not bother with the plugs and wired.
