I recently purchased a Street 500. Being an inexperienced Rider - on my L's, I am noticing the vision is very poor looking in the mirrors. All I can see is my shoulders! Do I have them adjusted wrong or is this normal and should I look at extensions / different mirrors?

That is the one thing about that bike, the mirrors sucks and you will need to do the estender mirrors

I want something a little more stylish than the extenders. Anyone have some good recommendations? Sucked today being unable to see the lumber trucks coming up fast behind me.

I bough this ones 2 weeks a go .

they look good, and do the job well but , quite disappointing with the quality of the paint. I think they just paint it on top of the chrome version, so they peal quite easy , plus the screws than comes with the kit do not fit the thread in your bike (XG500 Australia version), so you need to outsource a new set of screws. OK I hope that helps.

Harley does make a tapered long Stem version of the same mirror if you want your bike to look "Stock" Part Number 91909-03B for $34.95

These tapered long stem mirrors solved my issue with the original mirrors. I have no problem seeing back. 91909-03B is for the right side and 91910-03B is for the left side.

I fitted the mirror extenders yesterday. They work well. Paint quality is poor, but I can live with it!

I'm really suprised that more people don't just go with bar end mirrors. Simpler, more than likely safer and way more effective.

Harley Mirror Extenders

Knock off version of the Harley mirror extensions are available on eBay for $12.99; add some additional hardware from Ace Hardware and mirror problem is solved. ((2) 5/16/24/1 button bolts, (2) 5/16x1/4 spacers, (8) 5/16 split washers.

ok i got the 8mm ones , mirrors wont screw into them , wrong thread , mounting bolts also wrong thread , cheers .
