That's great news! I was a little disappointed with the sound when I watched the video of the screamin eagle nightstick.

Lets hope the Vance & Hines has a bit more "bark".

For those who want to tone the exhaust note down can install the straight shot baffles on to factory exhaust.

My greatest disappointment with the street is the primitive intake system. Not even individual injectors for each cylinder, but one injector for both cylinders in the shared intake. Forget intake tuning, it's a kludge just like an old airhead twin. I will wait until Harley builds a version with a proper downdraft intake with a throttle body and velocity stack for each cylinder. At the very least, have the cylinders drawing air from an intake plenum through individual velocity stacks and give each cylinder it's own fuel injector, with the plenum fed through a single throttle body.

do you think well ever see that happen within the current street production cycle?

I cannot remove the insert from my Vance and Hines Compseries slip-ons. I got the lone button head cap screw out without any issues. But, the insert won't budge. Can anyone offer any tips?

i'd call vance and hines and ask them.

however, I think I will not go with a V&h's slipon.
I really don't care for the triangular look of it.

I do want their fp3 though.:D

Hello all,

I just got a conformation from Vance & Hines, that their Competition Series Slip-on Exhaust has a removable insert (Baffle) that can be removed with out harming your engine, or loosing any low-end torque. As I have read in a million other Forum posts, that removing the baffle from your exhaust can be bad for you engine, and make it loose power at lower RPM's. This slip-on was designed to be ran with or with-out the insert. All depends on how the consumer wants it to sound. Me, I like it loud......

SAOPFER - to remove the Insert (Baffle), there is a single allen head screw (9/64?) on the inside of the exhaust tip, kind of hard to see it. remove this bolt and the insert should come out without any trouble.

It is really just a cap with a pipe welded in the center, I took mine off for awhile, it was louder than I like so I put it back on
