If your curious on where the 2014 Harley Davison HD street is being made, your on the same boat as every one on here :D

Well, I found the answer while snooping around and found out that the U.S model of both the Street 500 & 750 will be assembled in the Kansas City plant however they are not saying where it's being manufactured. Further investigation needed

As for the European and Indian HD Steet 500 & 750 model is actually being built in India.

Just an FYI ;)

If you Google "HD Street 750" you'll find a number of Indian publications discussing this new bike. If you read further, where they talk about production, you find something interesting. The production facility in India has not actualy been built yet!

Yes, there is a CKD facility (Complete KnockDown. ie assembling full kits from HDUSA) and it is to be expanded for actual production, but this is still in progress. Sub contrators are still being lined up. Initial Street prodution will probably be CKD as well.

So we know Street 500s are allready coming off the line in KC (Rider training versions), well, if there is no current factory to make them in India, then just where are these coming from? Or are folks still determined to ignore the obvious . . .
If they are being assembled in Kansas City, doesn't that just mean they have to source the parts from other places. The different parts could come from a whole bunch of different places worldwide. So while it is a bit of a mystery where all the parts are coming from, I don't think that Harley has a separate factory that only produces HD Street parts.

The Europeans don't seem to have a choice but to get charged almost double for the indian HD Street Model. Have you seen the break down of the prices? omg.

no I have not, whats the difference like? I would think that Indian cost of labor is much less than in America. Must be a pure margin play....

Where can we see a break down of the prices?
Taxs, taxs, taxs. Believe me, you do NOT want a VAT on this side of the Atlantic!
I think that a lot of the price differential is because of the import taxes. Bikes that are built domestically should cost less than bikes from foreign countries because of this.

Does Harley build all its bikes in the USA? I know its a quintessential American brand.

This is true, importing isn't cheap but they will make it cheaper shoving as much as they can on the ship, truck or how ever they're transporting it before it takes off.

Got to pay to play!
I'm actually happy that the Street is made here

I'd be interested to hear if everything is made here in the USA. Or if some of it is made off shore and just put together here.

I am sure not everything is 100% made in the US although we like it to be. Only time will tell. the wait is going to kill. :(
Since it's going to be a mass produced bike I guess we can expect parts to be made in a number of places and then shipped to the HD factories to be put on the bike. Anything can happen really
