Hey everyone, just bought an XG750 on Saturday.

My previous bike was an XR1200 and I loved it but sold it over in Germany a year ago.

Enjoying the bike so far even with it's very minor flaws.

How do you feel it compares to the 1200?
The XR1200 is definitely a bigger, faster bike.

This one feels more agile though. It is about 75 pounds lighter for starters.

I could lean the XR deeper in corners before I hit my pegs but we all knew that the XG has only like 28 degrees.

I think that the XG will be a favorite of mine once I get it all to look the way I want it. I really feel like they could make this a good "platform" bike bringing out a lot more customization. Next year will probably see some changes to make it more standard, like the grips I wanted wouldn't fit without some reworking of the throttle tube, things like that. They need to standardize some of the areas you can accessorize and push the ability to really make them unique.

I tried to rework the plastic throttle tube but broke it. I'm trying to fit ISO grips on my XG750. Found out that the throttle tube fits in a 1 1/4 inch universal ISO grip for the right side of a 1 inch handle bar and a 7/8 inch grip for the left. I tried to get Kuryakyn to send me a set of ISO grips without the throttle body glued in the right grip for 2 wire Harley Davidson's but to no avail. So I have to use two different sets of ISO grips to get it to work. The grips are a bit longer than the Harley ones. Just haven't moved forward on this project yet.

Yeah saw your post on reddit. The grips I like are the black diamond from Harley, I don't like any softness or rubber. I will have to figure out what to do eventually!

Good luck finding a third party grip maker for the Street 500/750. I can't get Kuryakyn to use existing grips to put together a set to sell.
